This isn't how it should be (Sample post!)

Audhild knew something was wrong when she heard the sounds of loud fighting. She heard her mother raising her voice more and more to someone else. So the young girl came running to see what had happened.

That was what she remembered anyways. That and how heated the fight had gotten until Loki saw her. Then acted so pleased and had called her to him. Oh why had she gone to him? She should have run like mother said to!

Now she was in another place. The park was big and there was plenty of snow. It did not bother her due to her Asgardian constitution but still she shivered for other reasons. The magic was still thick in the air and she was distressed at being cast away from her mother.

"Midgar?" Her eyes go really wide. Then she starts looking around sharply. "Didst I get here by magics then? Mother wast... arguing. With someone."

She wasn't ready to say Mother had been fighting Loki. But she gives Vincent a nervous look and takes a step back.

"You wilt not help me once you have mine Mother's name. She ist not well loved by the Avengers."

The hair on Vincent's neck rises. He's getting an uneasy feeling.

"You don't need to be afraid to tell me. My background is... complicated."

She picks at her shirt and glances down. She isn't quite used to feeling so-- so awkward about this. But she is used to being looked at with some degree of suspicion despite being a child. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree they say.

"Mother ist Amora the Enchantress."

Vincent's left eye twitches.

"Oh... well..." He fumbles for words. "This is unexpected.

No wonder I sensed you so strongly.." He says out loud without thinking.

That's more like what she is expecting. But now he's acting kind of weird, even for an adult.

"Why? Doth thou know Mother? She hast not mentioned thee. Unless you art one of the ones she hast gone to see alone."

[identity profile] vincent-amora.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 07:12 am (UTC)(link)
Vincent pales. "No. Ewww. No. Absolutely not. Also, no."

He clears his throat. "Lady Audhilde, are you familiar with the notion of parallel universes?"

He doesn't like Mother? But Mother said everyone liked her! Except for Thor but Mother was working on that.

"No? I art not."

[identity profile] vincent-amora.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 07:29 am (UTC)(link)
Vincent nods. "There are many other Midgards, and other Asgards as well. Some of them are very different, some only a little. I come from one of those other Midgards." Technically another Battleworld, but no sense complicating things further.

"On my world.. my father is Victor von Doom, and my mother is Amora the Enchantress."

She listens intently. At least he talks to her like a proper adult rather than usng baby talk.

A surprised look appears on her face. "Then thou art my brother. By both our parents. Mother tells me mine Farther art Vincent von Doom. I hath ne'er met him before."

[identity profile] vincent-amora.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 07:38 am (UTC)(link)
Vincent wouldn't know how to talk to a child with baby talk. Not even when he was one.

His expression turns serious. He reaches out and puts a hand on each of her shoulders. "Listen to me very closely. Whatever happens, do not go to Latveria. It's his kingdom, and you do NOT want to be in his care."

[identity profile] pintsizebruiser.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 07:43 am (UTC)(link)
"I doth not understand. Do parents not love thine children?" She gave Vincent a puzzled look. She obviously had never met her father. Doom was not an easy man at the best of times.

She did sigh though. "I wouldst not know how to get there even if I desired it. Mother doth not wish for me to meet him yet. I wilst not go against her---" She halts then blinks not knowing Vincent's name. "Amorason."

That works for now.

He nods. "It is complicated. He might not be one hundred percent evil for evil's sake, but I wouldn't trust him with a child. Certainly not with you." Vincent looks at her, clenching his jaw with uncertainty.

"Audhild, I... I would like to take you home with me, until we can figure out what's going on. Would that be alright?"

[identity profile] pintsizebruiser.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 08:02 am (UTC)(link)
She watches him like a hawk. Children often do that and she is no exception.

"That doth sound fair. But first where ist thine home? Is it far?" She does feel a little tired.

[identity profile] vincent-amora.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 08:03 am (UTC)(link)
He smiles. "Not very, and definitely not far the way I travel."

She brightens a great deal. "Thou art a mage then? Didst our Mother teach thee?"

Because they have the best Mommy ever. Audhild has a huge blind spot to Amora's flaws.

[identity profile] vincent-amora.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 08:17 am (UTC)(link)
"My mother taught me a great deal." Vincent smiles proudly. "Hold still now." He murmurs a few words, and teleports them to the hallway outside his and Roxanne's apartment.
